I became an aunt today. Again. And I couldn’t be happier!
Eva Shelby Alexander was born at 3:02 p.m. on August 17, 2012, weighing in at a hefty 8 lbs. 10 oz., and 20 3/4″ long. Plus blue eyes and a head full of curly hair from what I’m hearing already.
Just like her mommy and daddy, she was fashionably late (seriously, they’re never on time for anything) and I have no doubt my dad would have been thrilled to know she arrived the day before what would have been my dad’s birthday.
Aunt Wretched anxiously awaited at home last week — I really wanted to love on a newborn baby. But she wasn’t in any hurry to leave where she was. Now, with the South Central Regional roller derby tournament coming up and Kansas City expected to head off to Nationals in November, my life is filled with nothing but derby, derby, derby, so my first chance to meet her might just be when the holidays roll around.
The good news is that I’m not her only aunt in the Kansas City area. She has 5 other aunts around the area, all who are aching to squeeze her. So it won’t be long before the family is here letting us spoil Eva.
I absolutely cannot wait.
