Euphoric comparisons

I received my first critique from my fiction class tonight, and with a simple P.S. written at the top of my paper, my professor made my heart swell bigger than I could have imagined. I remind him of Amy Hempel.

This is good. This is very, very good. And I believe it’s a sign of things to come.
