Subscription boxes for pregnant ladies

I’m not sure how this happened (aside from, you know, having a baby), but I have swung happily into full-on mom mode. It feels incredibly wonderful to be responsible for a tiny human who wants nothing more than to snuggle closely with you as often as possible, and to eat non-stop. But that’s another story.

As I am sailing not-so-gracefully into motherhood, I feel like I’d be remiss if I didn’t bubble over about a wonderful little discovery I found early in my pregnancy. Pregnant ladies, if you haven’t heard of Bump Boxes, I encourage you to drop everything and sign up for it right this moment.

These folks out of Peoria, IL (which is close to where I grew up!) package up goodies that are perfect for moms-to-be as they work their way through each trimester. I found some of my favorite lifesavers from Bump Boxes, like Belli brand belly oil that helped keep stretch marks and itching at bay, Preggie Pops to slow down the vomiting, bath bombs and pampering goodies for that ungodly swelling, and eventually, teas and cookies that would help me with breastfeeding.

I was ecstatic to find out that the goods would keep on coming after my baby was born.

Jack’s first box was packed with so much goodness.

We got a board book called Pajama Time, Birds & Bees Teas for easy naps and calm nights, a sweet Cloud B sheep rattle. But the last two things were my favorite, by far.

We were given an adorable SoundBub speaker, which connects to your smart phone so you can play music, stories, and messages for your baby. Jack’s grandma — my mom — is a musician who loves to sing to him over the phone. Naturally, when I’m home for the holidays, I’ll be recording her so we can hear her sing to him every night, even if it’s way past her bedtime. I know these kinds of speakers are becoming more and more affordable, but the app comes with content and you can always buy more, plus record your own. I think it’s perfect for us.

Also in the box was a muslin swaddle blanket from my very favorite baby brand: aden + anais. I love these blankets because they’re big enough for swaddling as your baby grows. They’re cool enough to keep your baby covered up in the cool weather of fall and spring. And they’re great for covering up if you’re nervous about breastfeeding.

With all of that said, if you’re pregnant or have a little one at home, treat yourself! And if you aren’t pregnant but know somebody who is, you would be her best friend if you sent her a Bump Box gift. I promise you.
